"ELEMENTUM is a daybed that experimentally introduces a 'new' method for designing seating surfaces. In this process, wood is bent solely through tension. The starting point is an oval stadium shape, which forms the frame for the textile seating and reclining surface. The flat oval is shaped across the shorter side using tension straps. After assembly, the wood is held in shape solely by the frame and the textile. The curves of the frame arch and reflect the tension. A flat shape transforms into a volume.
